The pathway to true and lasting peace begins with compassion. We are all connected to one another and that cannot be changed. To hate another is to hate ourselves, and that cycle is then perpetuated over and over- spreading like a disease across the world. Heaven is man-made as is hell. When a man kills another, he is committing an act of spiritual suicide. Humankind must first look to themselves for the process of peace to begin. Our true purpose on earth is to live in a self-created heaven, which is a reflection of the compassion we feel for ourselves and all of God's creations.

True Love

The true love we long for is that love we must first give to ourselves.

The Key

Most people spend their entire life searching for the key to unlock life's answers-until one day they happen to reach inside their pocket and find the key had been in there all along.

How can something be deemed a "mistake" if we learned from the experience.

My thoughts come and go like the tide. Sometimes rushing in with a calm resolution-other times, with little patience.

My thoughts are the mirror of my soul-a song my heart longs to sing. Sometimes the words don't rhyme or even make sense and I am afraid the world will never hear its unique beauty.

My thoughts are me-good and bad. I embrace them as a mother embraces her child-lovingly and without judgment.

My thoughts are not always kind, but like the ocean-overtime the gentle motion softens and smooths away the roughness.

Learning to live alone together is our most painful life lesson

City of Angels

Sometimes I miss those days of swollen highways and smoky nights. The darkened theaters full of promise never lost their allure. The vacant eyes, endless lies, and lost dreams, that's another story. They say it never rains in California- what about all the rivers cried in the city of Angels. Innocence is a curse in a place run by Devils. Ghosts of glitz and vintage glamor, sneak in and out of the shadows- a nostalgic reminder of an era lost in time. A woman sits alone in a dirty, smoky bar on Sunset- once Hollywood royalty, now just a lesser version of herself.  Once upon a time, her sexuality was a powerful scent that brought them through the doors, now it is barely distinguishable, lost in the smell of cheap scotch, nicotine and regret- its faint odor is a sad reminder of the dreams she lost when she made a pact with the Devil too many moons ago. She doesn't have laugh lines. She never had much to laugh about.

They say L.A  is a city of dreams. Whose dreams anyway? Once you fall a sleep the Sandman steals everything from you, but your pillowcase stained with disappointment. Wake up baby- I think you need to go home now- last call. She stumbles off of the worn bar stool, bows to no one in particular and steps into the lonely streets of  "no one gives a shit." Just one more Hollywood causality swallowed up by a city that cares more about a postal code than a Jane Doe living under a down town bridge. She takes a long drag from her cheap ass cigarette, and tosses it into the gutter. After a moment of digging through her torn up Channel wannabe purse, she pulls out her two dollar sun glasses- putting  them on, she stumbles into the night like all the other dreamers who never woke up. "Come on baby take another Ambian....Hold on just one more night. Come on baby, the Sandman ain't coming back no more-there ain't nothing left to steal," she mumbles nonsensically to herself,  leaving the pungent stench of cheap booze, cheaper cigarettes and, loneliness in her wake.

Forget running away from life...walking will do

True Strength

True strength is carved from the underbelly of resiliency. True strength is standing up to adversity and letting courage take the wheel. True strength isn't just about winning but also about humility- grateful to have the opportunity to fight another day. True strength is that place in us where we love ourselves enough to say no but also to explore each yes that comes along. True strength doesn't care if we are right or wrong, only that our voice is heard. True strength doesn't always come from an angry fist, but also from a gentle hand. True strength is when we stop trying to please everyone and learn the difference between excellence and perfection.

No Regrets

Often times we say to ourselves "if only I had done this or done that," my life would have turned out differently. Yet the reality is we just don't know until we know..... Our souls have a specific journey and we must just tag along willingly without question or regret.  Namaste.

Stop and Stare

Sometimes something simple stops us in our tracks, we turn the car around and stare at it for a while. Why do we let ourselves get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of life that we forget to stop and stare more often?

The path to true inner peace
is learning to live within and without

The Key

I stood at the door and tried as I may to open it-the key simply refused to work. Feeling hopeless after many unsuccessful attempts, I sunk down to the floor and rested my head against the door, closing my eyes in defeat, I listened to the sound of my breathing and the far a way cries of screaming seagulls. After a few moments, I willed them open. The sunlight was streaming in from the near by window, illuminating the hallway. I studied the patterns of light as they danced to and fro, mesmerized as only a child could be. Suddenly I jumped up forgetting about the room and raced down stairs to run and dance in the sunlight.
When I lost my religion-I found my way.

So many people look at change as if they are peering up at a mountain. They long to climb it, but feel overwhelmed by the prospect. We cannot stay stuck out of fear-always waiting and hoping for something magical to happen to us. The magic isn't outside of is within, so stop dreaming and start making your own magic. Be the magician of your life!
